2. Who can buy from us

2.1
You must be at least 18 years old to create an Account or buy from us. Our Products are not intended for children.
2.2
We sell to Consumers and Business Customers worldwide, except where the law prevents us. We cannot supply Products to persons located in, or ordinarily resident in, a country or territory subject to comprehensive UK sanctions, or to any person who is the subject of UK, UN, EU or US sanctions. We may refuse or cancel an order, and refund any payment, where we reasonably believe that supplying it would breach sanctions or other law.
2.3
You must give us accurate details when you register and order, and keep them up to date.

3. Our products

3.1

Online courses

A Course gives you online access, for the access period stated on the course page, to:

  • pre-recorded video lessons, which are streamed online and cannot be downloaded;
  • written learning materials;
  • practical assignments and, where the course page says so, feedback on them from a tutor; and
  • a certificate of completion when you meet the requirements described on the course page (see section 9).

The access period starts when access is first made available to you.

3.2

Club membership

A Membership is a digital membership that runs for one month at a time. During a paid period you can use our AI formulation assistant, watch recorded masterclasses (which we release gradually) and take part in the community chats. What is included at any time is described on the Club page. If we offer a free trial, its length and content will be shown before you start, and a free trial never turns into a paid Membership by itself.
3.3

No automatic renewal

Each Membership period is paid for separately. Nothing renews automatically and we do not charge your card again without a new order from you. To continue after a period ends, you simply buy a new period. If we ever offer automatically renewing memberships in future, they will only apply to you if you expressly choose them, and we will tell you clearly beforehand how they work and how to cancel.
3.4

Live sessions

Live Sessions take place online (usually on Zoom) on the date and at the time (UK time unless stated otherwise) shown when you book. Whether a recording will be available is stated on the booking page. If we must move or cancel a Live Session, we will offer you a new date or, if you prefer, a refund for that session.
3.5
We take care to describe our Products accurately. The description on the product page at the time you order, including the access period and what is included, forms part of our contract with you. Images and examples are illustrative.

4. Ordering and how the contract is formed

4.1
You place an order by choosing a Product, following the checkout steps and paying. Before you pay you can review your order and correct any errors.
4.2
The contract between you and us is formed when we (or Link, where section 6 applies) confirm your order by email or on screen after your payment has been accepted. Contracts are concluded in English. The confirmation will include, or link to, these Terms; we recommend you keep a copy. We keep a copy of your order and the version of these Terms that applied, and will send it to you on request.
4.3
If we cannot accept your order (for example, because of an obvious pricing error or a sanctions restriction), we will tell you and refund any payment in full.
4.4

Starting straight away

Digital content and services can normally be cancelled within 14 days (see section 10 and our Refunds & Cancellation Policy). Because access to Courses and Club Memberships starts within that period, we ask for your express request and acknowledgement at checkout by ticking a box. The wording is:

For Courses:

I want access to start immediately. I understand that once access begins I lose my 14-day right to cancel the course content. If the course includes tutor feedback or live sessions and I cancel within 14 days, I will pay for what has been provided.

For Club Memberships:

Start my membership now. If I cancel within 14 days, I will pay for the part of the period already provided.

We only supply Courses and Club Memberships with immediate access, so you will need to tick this box to complete your order. If you do not want to give up your right to cancel, please do not place the order. We will confirm your request and acknowledgement by email after your purchase.

5. Prices and payment

5.1
Prices shown on our website are the total price you pay, including any taxes. We are not registered for VAT. Where Link is the seller, Link accounts for any VAT or sales tax out of that price; if your local currency is used, the converted total is shown before you pay.
5.2
Payment is taken in full when you order, unless you choose to pay in instalments where we offer this; the instalment schedule is shown before you pay and missed instalments may pause access. Card payments are processed by Stripe on a secure Stripe Checkout page; we may also offer PayPal. We never see or store your full card details.
5.3
Discount codes and promotions are subject to the conditions shown with them and cannot be exchanged for cash. A price change does not affect an order we have already confirmed.
5.4

Account wallet

Your Account may have a wallet: prepaid credit that you top up to use on our platform, for example for AI assistant usage. Wallet credit has no cash value, cannot be transferred to another person or Account, and is not a bank account or e-money. Refunds of wallet top-ups are made as set out in our Refunds & Cancellation Policy.

7. Your account and access

7.1
You need an Account to use our Products. Keep your sign-in details confidential and tell us promptly at the address in section 20 if you think someone else has used your Account.
7.2
An Account is for one person. To protect our content and your Account, you can be signed in on one mobile device and one computer at a time.
7.3
You need a reliable internet connection and an up-to-date browser or our app. We aim to keep the platform available at all times but cannot promise uninterrupted access, for example during maintenance or because of events outside our control.
7.4
When the access period of a Course or a Membership period ends, access to that Product ends. Your certificates and the information you are entitled to under data protection law remain available to you.

8. Licence and acceptable use

8.1
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Products you have paid for, during their access period, for your own learning. A Business Customer may allow only the named individuals for whom it has bought access to use them.
8.2

You must not

  • share your Account or sign-in details, or let anyone else use your access;
  • download, screen-record, film, photograph or otherwise capture lessons, masterclasses or Live Sessions, except where we expressly allow it;
  • copy, redistribute, resell, publish, upload or make available our content or materials, in whole or in part;
  • remove, hide or get around watermarks or other technical protection (lessons may carry a personalised viewer watermark);
  • use our content to create a competing course or training product;
  • use automated tools to scrape our platform, or use our content or the AI assistant’s output to train AI models; or
  • use the platform for anything unlawful, harmful or fraudulent.
8.3

Community rules

In chats, comments and Live Sessions, please:

  • be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, threats or personal attacks;
  • do not post spam or advertise without our permission;
  • do not share other people’s personal data, or formulations other members share with the group, outside the community;
  • do not give medical advice or make medical claims about products.

We may remove content that breaks these rules and, for serious or repeated breaches, restrict access to the community.

8.4

Your content

You keep ownership of what you submit, such as assignments, photos and messages. You allow us to store it, show it to the people it is intended for (for example your tutor or the chat you posted in) and use it to provide our services. We will not publish your work outside the platform without your permission.

9. Certificates

9.1
When you meet the completion requirements shown on the course page (for example, completing the lessons and assignments), we issue a certificate of completion.
9.2
A certificate of completion confirms that you completed our Course. It is not an accredited or regulated qualification, it is not a licence to manufacture or sell cosmetic products, and it does not give any professional status.
9.3
We may withdraw a certificate obtained by fraud or in serious breach of section 8.

10. Your right to cancel and refunds

10.1
If you are a Consumer, you normally have 14 days to cancel. How this right works for Courses, Memberships, Live Sessions and wallet top-ups, including what happens when access starts straight away (see clause 4.4), is set out in our Refunds & Cancellation Policy, which also contains a model cancellation form.
10.2
Whatever you choose at checkout, you keep your legal rights if digital content or a service we provide is faulty or not as described (see the Refunds & Cancellation Policy and section 15).

11. Changes to products, suspension and ending access

11.1
We may update our content to reflect changes in law, regulation, science or good practice, or to improve it, as long as the change does not make what you paid for materially worse. If a change would materially disadvantage you, we will tell you and you may end the contract and receive a refund for the part you have paid for but not received.
11.2
We may suspend access briefly to fix technical problems, make improvements or protect security. We will try to keep this short and, where possible, tell you in advance.
11.3
If you seriously or repeatedly break section 8 (for example, by sharing your Account or redistributing content), we may suspend or end your access. Where reasonable we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right. If we end the contract because of your breach, we will refund any amount you have paid for Products you have not yet received, less any reasonable compensation we are entitled to for our losses.
11.4
If we decide to stop providing a Product, we will give you reasonable notice and refund any amount you have paid for a period or service that will not be provided.

12. Formulation and safety disclaimer

Educational purposes only

Our Courses, masterclasses, formulations and examples teach the principles of cosmetic formulation. They are not tested finished products, product safety assessments, or legal, regulatory or medical advice.

12.1
You are responsible for anything you make and how you use it. Follow safe working practice: use appropriate protective equipment, follow your suppliers’ safety data sheets, use suitable preservation, and consider allergies and skin sensitivities.
12.2
If you sell, give away or otherwise make a cosmetic product available to others, you are responsible for complying with the law that applies to it. In Great Britain this includes the UK Cosmetics Regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 as it applies in UK law), under which a product needs a Responsible Person, a cosmetic product safety report from a qualified safety assessor, a product information file, notification before it is placed on the market, compliant labelling and good manufacturing practice. Different rules apply in Northern Ireland and in other countries, and you must follow the rules where you sell.
12.3
Our content does not teach the diagnosis or treatment of any disease. You must not make medicinal or medical claims for cosmetic products.
12.4
Laws, regulations and scientific knowledge change. Our content reflects our understanding when it was recorded or written; check the current position before relying on it. This section does not limit our responsibility for our own negligence or anything else that section 15.2 says we cannot limit.

13. AI formulation assistant

13.1
The AI formulation assistant generates answers automatically using third-party AI models. Answers are not checked by a person before you see them and may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
13.2
AI answers are a learning aid. They are not a safety assessment, a regulatory opinion or medical advice. Check important information, including ingredient limits and legal requirements, against reliable sources before relying on it.
13.3
Please do not enter health information or other sensitive personal data. Before your messages are sent to AI providers, we automatically detect and replace names and contact details with placeholders; see our Privacy Policy.
13.4
We may apply reasonable usage limits to keep the service fair and available, and we may change the AI models we use, provided the service remains materially as described.

14. Intellectual property

14.1
All content on our platform, including videos, texts, formulations, images, course structure, software and the Walker Formulation Academy name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, database rights and other intellectual property rights.
14.2
Apart from the licence in section 8, these Terms do not give you any rights in our content. If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.

15. Our responsibility to you

15.1

If you are a Consumer

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen or if, when the contract was made, both of us knew it might happen. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

If defective digital content that we have supplied damages a device or digital content belonging to you, and this is caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation.

Our Products teach skills you may use in a business, but we do not guarantee any commercial result. We are not liable to Consumers for loss of profit, loss of business or business interruption, except where such loss results from our breach of these Terms and was foreseeable.

15.2

What we never exclude

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence or that of our employees or agents;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • breach of your statutory rights as a Consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and services must be provided with reasonable care and skill); or
  • any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
15.3

If you are a Business Customer

Subject to clause 15.2, we will not be liable to a Business Customer, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, for any loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, anticipated savings or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to a Business Customer arising under or in connection with a contract is limited to the total price paid for the Product concerned in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Terms implied by statute are excluded to the extent the law allows.

15.4

Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. If such an event affects a Product, we will tell you as soon as possible and take reasonable steps to minimise the effect; if it continues for a long time you may cancel and receive a refund for the part you have paid for but not received.

16. Complaints

16.1
If you are unhappy, please email [email protected] with your name, the email address of your Account and a description of the problem. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and to give you a full response within 14 days.
16.2
If we cannot resolve your complaint, we will tell you in writing whether we are willing to use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider. You can get free, impartial advice from Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk, 0808 223 1133). You may also be able to ask your card issuer for help, and you can bring court proceedings.

17. Other important terms

17.1
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation; we will tell you if this happens and it will not reduce your rights. You may transfer your rights only with our written consent.
17.2
The contract is between you and us. No other person has any right to enforce its terms, except Link to the extent section 6 provides.
17.3
If a court finds part of these Terms unlawful, the rest will continue in force. If we do not insist on a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
17.4
For Business Customers, these Terms and the order confirmation are the entire agreement between us about their subject matter.

18. Governing law and courts

18.1
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a Consumer, you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
18.2
If you are a Consumer living outside the United Kingdom, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts where your local law allows.
18.3
If you are a Business Customer, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

19. Changes to these terms

19.1
We may update these Terms, for example to reflect changes in law or in our Products. The version that applies to an order is the one published when you placed it. Each Membership period is a new order, so the version in force when you buy that period applies to it.
19.2
This version (2026-10-30) replaces earlier versions, including the PDF terms previously linked from our website. Earlier versions are available on request from [email protected].
